TVET course empowers S’wak’s workforce

KUCHING: On June 19 and 20, 2024, Kuching played host to a landmark event in the realm of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Organised by the Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) in collaboration with MEF Academy Sdn Bhd, the fullysponsored Kursus Induksi PPPPD-PPB marked a significant stride towards enhancing skills and readiness among Sarawakians in Malaysia’s burgeoning TVET industry.

The event attracted 40 enthusiastic participants from the region, all eager to contribute effectively to the nation’s technical and vocational education landscape.

At its core, the Kursus Induksi PP-PPD-PPB serves as a foundational introduction to Malaysia’s Skills Certification System (SPKM). This vital induction course is essential for individuals aspiring to roles such as Pegawai Penilai (PP), Pegawai Pengesah Dalaman (PPD), and Pengurus Pusat Bertauliah (PPB).

Conducted over two intensive days, the course provides participants with fundamental insights crucial for proficient SPKM implementation.

Sarawak State Government through SBF has exclusively sponsored this intensive two-day course in Kuching, with the aim to empower Sarawakians who are keen on embarking on a career in TVET.

Held at the SBF training room, the 40 participants from various industries ranging from manufacturing to food processing, were introduced to the immense potential of the TVET, empowering them with the knowledge and competency to drive them forward.

In a commitment to inclusivity, the participation fee per participant was fully sponsored, eliminating financial barriers and enabling equitable access to highquality training opportunities.

Facilitation of the Kursus Induksi PP-PPD-PPB was expertly guided by Mr Zan Aizudin of CIAST, ensuring participants received comprehensive mentorship and support throughout the programme.

Dr Dzulzalani Eden, director of MEF Academy, played a pivotal role in orchestrating and sponsoring the event, underscoring the academy’s dedication to nurturing local talent and fortifying Sarawak’s economic landscape through enhanced workforce competencies.

By equipping local talents with foundational SPKM competencies, the academy not only enhances individual career prospects but also elevates Sarawak’s status as a center for technical and vocational excellence.

As Sarawak continues its trajectory towards economic diversification and industrial advancement, initiatives like the Kursus Induksi PP-PPD-PPB play a pivotal role in empowering local talents to meet global economic demands.

The enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from attendees underscore the programme’s effectiveness in preparing Sarawakians for prosperous careers in TVET.

In conclusion, the collaborative synergy between the Sarawak Business Federation and MEF Academy sets a compelling precedent for future initiatives aimed at bridging skill gaps and fostering sustainable development across Sarawak’s industries.

Together, they pave the way for a future where every Sarawakian thrives within Malaysia’s dynamic TVET landscape. For more information, please contact SBF Secretariat at secretariat@sbf.org.my or 082237148/014-6219016.
